In the last two years, the Internet has taken a leading position in the world. Much has been said about the importance of coverage, reaching remote places, and achieving the greatest possible access. However, there is another factor that is also fundamental and worth talking about: the quality of the Internet, and to talk about this, it is important to refer to Content Delivery Networks (CDN).
CDNs are a network of interconnected servers (geographically distributed in different cities, countries and even continents), that store copies of information, in a process called ""replication"", and whose objective is to bring the information or content as close as possible to the end user, defined in telecommunications as the edge of the network. This allows them to efficiently manage the growing volume of Web traffic and data flows, improving the reliability and performance of Internet sites.
""What this means is that information is stored on a server, and that server replicates the data to the other servers in the network in an intelligent and efficient way, ensuring its availability. Among the parameters used to determine what and for how long content should be available in a region is measuring its ""popularity"" in a specific area, thus ensuring that the server closest to that area has the information available to serve users, thus generating greater speed in their consultation and better availability, which translates into a better user experience,"" said Miguel Poveda, Product Manager of Connectivity at InterNexa.
